Privacy Policy — Adventure Book
Last updated: September 4, 2026
Adventure Book ("the app") is a mobile app for planning, preparing for, and remembering family activities. This page explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and what it never does with your information.
No account, no login
The app doesn't require creating an account or signing in. On first launch you choose a display name for a local profile — that name is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere.
What stays on your device
All of your content — activities, tasks, gear lists, plan notes, completion recaps, ratings, and any photo you attach to a recap — is stored locally on your phone. None of it is uploaded, synced, or backed up to any server. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data permanently deletes it, because there is no copy anywhere else.
Notifications
Reminders (for preparing an activity or recapping it afterward) are scheduled locally on your device using your operating system's notification system. There is no push notification server and nothing about your reminders is sent to us or anyone else.
Photos
You may optionally attach one photo per completed activity. That photo is stored on your device only and is never uploaded.
Anonymous usage and crash data
To find bugs and understand which parts of the app are actually used, Adventure Book sends anonymous event counts (e.g. "an activity was created," "a task was completed") and crash reports to Sentry, a third-party error-monitoring service that acts as our data processor. This telemetry:
- Never includes activity titles, notes, recap text, ratings, or photos.
- Is limited to event names, counts, coarse buckets (e.g. a length-of-text bucket, not the text itself), and standard technical diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version).
- Is not linked to your name, email, or any account, since the app has none.
- Is grouped by a random identifier generated on your device (not your name, email, or a device ID) purely so we can tell whether returning testers keep using the app over time — this identifier isn't shared with anyone else and can't be traced back to you.
See Sentry's own privacy policy for how they handle data on our behalf.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't run ads or ad-tracking SDKs in the app.
- We don't have a server that stores your activities, notes, or photos.
Children's privacy
Adventure Book is intended for use by adults planning activities for their family, not for direct use by children. If you enter information about a child (such as a first name in a note), that stays local to your device under the same handling described above — it is never uploaded and never included in the anonymous usage data sent to Sentry.
Prototype status
Adventure Book is an early-stage product still being tested with a small group of invited users. Local data may be reset or lost during this period as the app evolves — please avoid storing anything you couldn't bear to lose (irreplaceable photos, sensitive documents, medical information, or precise home addresses).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
